Our Approach The barriers to attendance can be complex and often relate to health, emotional well being, complex family circumstances and safeguarding issues. As a team we have worked with challenging, disaffected and disadvantaged children and young people. We understand that schools may sometimes have difficulty engaging with parents. As an independent service we offer mediation to break down barriers to education and build relationships between school and family. We adopt a positive working relationship whilst highlighting the implications of poor school attendance and punctuality.
Our aim is to encourage families and young people to value education and ensure they access the provision offered. Without support of this kind many children and young people do not go on to achieve their full potential. We take the safeguarding of children very seriously, and we are committed to ensuring children and young people are not only safe from harm, but have the opportunity to make positive life choices.
EAS understands that each school is unique. We offer a proactive bespoke package for each school to meet the needs of their requirements. This is reviewed regularly, and when necessary it is adapted to suit both the school and government expectations.
EAS recognise the need schools have for additional attendance management support through detailed analysis and proactive case work. We carry out regular referral meetings in schools to analyse and monitor individuals or groups with poor attendance. We then support schools to implement specified actions (such as undertaking a home visit or inviting the parent to a meeting in school).
Where absence persists, EAS will issue warning letters to parents providing them with details of the legal requirements. Throughout the case work process we ensure that first rate evidence is provided if/when statutory intervention is necessary.
We want our schools to be satisfied with the service we offer. We can support schools to implement their current practices or can provide a whole new approach.
Accessing EAS An initial consultation meeting can be arranged to discuss your school's current attendance situation. This will enable us to build a bespoke package of support. We can offer flexible packages to support your budget and financial planning, offering contracts based on weekly, fortnightly, monthly or single half term sessions. This consultation meeting and the recommendation we make to you is cost and obligation free.
